Eel spark could lead to life-friendly electronics

Scientists have recently probed deeper into the molecular makeup and interactions of the electric eel’s ability to generate both weak and strong voltages at will, according to this Science Advances article. Application of such information could eventually lead to tiny electronics that are composed of life-friendly materials rather than the myriad uncommon metal elements required in today’s common electronic devices.
