Janine benyus, Co-founder

Janine Benyus is a founding member of the biomimicry movement, and is credited with coining the term biomimicry in her 1997 book, “Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature.” She has since inspired millions and has helped evolve the practice of biomimicry to become the innovation tool it is today, consulting with businesses and inspiring global audiences about what we can learn from the natural genius that surrounds us.

Dr. dayna baumeister, co-founder

Dr. Dayna Baumeister is a founding member of the biomimicry movement, and works daily as a biologist at the design table, helping clients consult the natural world for elegant and sustainable design solutions. Among other groundbreaking professional training programs, she designed and continues to lead the world’s first Biomimicry Professional Certificate program, a two-year immersion experience that integrates with an accredited Master’s of Science in Biomimicry degree through Arizona State University.

Mark Dorfman, Biomimicry Chemistry

Mark Dorfman is a chemist who follows the premise that living organisms, by necessity, have developed sophisticated, highly effective, life-friendly chemistries that can inspire provocative and sustainable technology. Mark seeks out and applies the design principles of nature’s time-tested chemical strategies to develop innovative solutions to the toxic chemical and material challenges facing the 21st century.

Nicole Miller, Managing Director

Nicole Hagerman Miller is a business innovator who has worked in both the public and private sectors focusing on global business development and sustainability. At Biomimicry 3.8, she has overseen the development and launch of the first accredited Master’s of Science in biomimicry program at Arizona State University and the implementation of several strategic partnerships. She works to bring biological intelligence-based solutions to a wide range of clients.
